This is a big issue for me. I makes me a Liberal. I believe in process with a just outcome rather than than the end justifies the means. For me, on issues of principle, justice is always more important than ‘politics’.

These have been extraordinary months. The results of The Standards Commission report, cleared me. It did not even go to a formal hearing stage, being dismissed after the initial interview. In my view it is a testament to the injustice of the original false allegation.

For reasons of completeness, the published judgement is reproduced here. Section 28 deals with the decision. It is in effect the result It is highlighted in bold.

Standards Commission Report

With final reference to my Consultation with officials, all the information was gleaned a a public Inquiry, so officials were consulted but not directly. Cllr Storr also asked the questions that did reveal all the relevant information. This was not covered in the Standards Commission investigation so they would not have been able to judge that element with accuracy.

The situation within the Scottish Lberal Democrats has been the subject of public comment.  I have made limited public comment to clarify this.  The record of this is availble through the link below.
